ABOUT US
“Created with care, gifted by nature, it is the extra quality you can taste.”
We are the Podrug family from the small village of Piramatovci, about 10 km from the town of Skradin, known for the Krka waterfalls on the Krka River. The oldest family member says that olive growing has been part of our family for many years, and family stories tell that they remember olive oil production dating back to 1886. Some of our olive groves are over 200 years old.
Our farm is marked on the map, making it easy to find our small tasting room. We enjoy when people come for a tasting, where they have the opportunity to choose the oil according to their taste and hear our story. The oil is produced organically.
Due to our limited geographical area, we will never compete with large producers, but because of our micro-locations, we compete with outstanding quality, as proven by our numerous awards, both international and national. The fact is that our oils are always highly ranked at all global events and competitions, recognized as a premium product.
In our region, competition is strong, but this is not negative. It pushes us to improve and strive for perfection, both in cultivation and in oil storage. We are gradually gaining recognition in domestic and international markets, and we hope that the younger generation will continue our tradition.
OUR PRODUCTS
Mild olive oil is best paired with light dishes such as fresh salads, white fish, and cooked vegetables. Its flavour does not take the main role, but nicely rounds out the dish. It pairs perfectly with desserts and chocolate and is ideal for everyday use, when you want just a mild touch of olive oil.
Medium-intensity olive oil is perfectly suited to roasted chicken, vegetable dishes, pasta, and seasonal salads. It gives a nice aroma without being too strong. Excellent for families who want a more pronounced but still balanced taste.
Intense olive oil comes out well with red meat, grilled dishes, bruschetta, game, and other dishes with richer flavours. Its pronounced aroma emphasizes flavors and gives a special depth to every bite. Ideal for lovers of strong olive taste.
