NYIOOC 2026 – the world’s largest olive oil competition – this year brought together producers from 29 countries with 1,021 entries, awarding 464 gold and 234 silver medals.

Croatia stood out as one of the leading countries, winning a total of 128 awards – 103 gold and 25 silver from 144 entries, placing second behind Italy, ahead of Greece, the USA and Spain.

We are especially proud of our members who, with this year’s results, have confirmed that the Šibenik-Knin olive growing scene belongs at the very top of the world stage. Congratulations to all award winners!

Producers this year faced weather extremes, market volatility, rising production costs and political instability.
Greece reached a record 106 awards despite a difficult season marked by pests, labor shortages and late rains.Other region producers also recorded strong results – Bosnia and Herzegovina earned 16 awards, including 15 Gold Awards, while Montenegro reached a record nine awards.

The competition also highlighted the rise of organic olive oils, the importance of varietal identity, and the success of small and medium-sized producers in producing high-quality olive oil.
